Aye Mi (My World) is a creative youth-led heritage project that will support ten young people aged 14 to 22 from diverse cultural backgrounds living in Laois, including first-generation Irish, Zimbabwean, Filipino, and Syrian communities, to explore identity, belonging, culture, and place through audio, photography, video, and storytelling. Led by award-winning filmmaker and audio producer Ann Marie Kelly, alongside Youth Work Ireland Laois youth leaders Elaine Boyle and Tara Roycroft, participants will take part in a series of workshops examining questions such as Who am I?, Where do I belong?, and What would I change about Laois?, helping them reflect on their personal heritage, lived experiences, and connections to their communities. 

A field trip to Glenbarrow in the Slieve Bloom Mountains will encourage engagement with Laois's natural and cultural heritage, providing an inspiring setting for reflection, recording, and shared cultural exchange. The project will culminate in a short film and portrait exhibition at Youth Work Ireland Laois, capturing a unique snapshot of contemporary life in Laois through the voices and perspectives of young people. By enabling participants to define and share their own stories, the project promotes social inclusion, cultural understanding, pride of place, mental wellbeing, and a stronger sense of belongin
