Beginners Genealogy Club

The Beginner's Genealogy Club is an opportunity for older adults to learn how to research family history as well as present their findings to a group. It consists of five one-hour talks presented by a local genealogist, Jane Halloran Ryan. Jane will give participants the background to resources available to them, either online or in their local record office, to enable them to start their own family history research.

Participants will also be invited to visit Clare County Library Local Studies Centre where they will be given a tour by the Local Studies Librarian.

It is then hoped that the group will continue to meet in Killaloe Library after the course to share their research as a weekly genealogy club.

Places are free but booking is required. To book your place contact Killaloe Library on  (061) 376062 or email killaloe@clarelibrary.ie
