Rossinver Youth and Community Project are working with Artist Sarah Lundy on a new project exploring biodiversity through creative engagement with young people.
The young people will engage in an eco-art camp during heritage week where they will be introduced to their native flora and fauna through visual art workshops and engage in outdoor plant walks where they will have the opportunity to see, smell, sketch, learn the names and folklore connected to them from real life. They will sensitively forage and preserve some flora that can then be created into their very own art works.
A hexagonal wall installation will be created in the centre reception area with some of the flora and fauna highlighting what can be found in local area and allowing for the perfect platform for interesting conversations on biodiversity to take place.
