Bright Soul is one arm of Blue Teapot’s Community Theatre Programme, a longstanding arts participation project which began as a creative outlet for adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in 1996. Today, it maintains that original ethos placing an emphasis on fun in practising theatre skills and the sheer joy of performing.

Bright Soul runs for twenty weeks throughout the year and caters to a variety of ages. Some of the original members still attend while some of the newer participants have used this experience as a stepping stone in to Blue Teapot’s three year QQI accredited Performing Arts School Programme.

This Autumn see’s the introduction of some new participants into Bright Soul so the focus will be on working collaboratively as a team to brainstorm narratives which can be developed into short improvised scenes. These processes exercise the muscles of imagination and cooperation, two vital building blocks in theatre creation.
