Colmcille is one of Ireland’s three patron saints.  In 2020- 2021 we commemorate the 1500th anniversary of his birth in Gartan, County Donegal. 

A short history of the life and legacy of Colmcille will be formed into an illustrated 26 page booklet, suitable for primary level and early second level students.

Worksheets will accompany the booklet.

The pack will bring Colmcille to life to a young audience. It will introduce them to the period, to the folklore, and the archaeology. It will increase young people’s sense of pride of place and their understanding of the importance of history in our 21st century lives.
