Cooperative Production Hub Feasibility Study

Ella Daly proposes a feasibility study on the creation of a centralised production hub for props and costumes in the mid-west region. It would house a store, alongside workshop facilities for repair, remake & maintenance, she would engage with potential partners, stakeholders and funders on drawing up a business plan.

The potential for a central production hub which would support film, television and theatre production in the mid-west region. The production hub would house a prop and costume store, alongside workshop facilities for repair, remake and maintenance and storage facilities for larger items. It would allow small to medium sized productions an opportunity to access high quality costumes and props at lower costs without the need to store or dispose of them after the project wraps.

This is turn would cut down on waste in the sector and support a greener industry with expensive materials being reused rather than going to landfill. Ella proposes with the support of Limerick City and County Arts Office undertaking a feasability study to engage with potential partners, stakeholders and funders on drawing up a business plan for such a facility. Ella Daly, Jay Kavanagh (technical manager at the Lime Tree and Belltable Theatres), and Pius McGrath (Honest Arts) have discussed the need for such a facility and how it may work.
