Cork Words

Is an Anthology of contemporary Cork Writing made possible by the enthusiasm of the writers in our city both established and emerging. It was a wonderful support to the wellbeing of our city’s writers during the pandemic. Over 50 writers  contributed to the 2nd anthology with established and award winning writers alongside emerging talent from the MA in Creative Writing in UCC. There are many writers still to be included in this next anthology and there are always new voices requiring a platform.

Cork and its hinterland have always had a vibrant literary tradition. As the undisputed capital of the South for many centuries, the city has drawn poets, biographers, novelists and short-story writers to its cafes, lecture halls, and publishing houses, and so many published writers in recent times

Have been inspired by the vibrancy of the literary life of Cork City and this anthology represents the great writers of our city today,

Along with the significant literary festivals in the city and the many supports for writing and writers this anthology is another significant contribution to establishing Cork as a literary city boosting tourism and making the city an attractive place for writers to come and live in.
