Introduction to Horror Writing with Aisling Walsh

As autumn arrives and spooky season begins, join horror writer Aisling Walsh for an engaging introduction to horror writing. This workshop explores how horror fiction, from classic gothic tales to contemporary literary works, can illuminate the darker corners of human experience and reflect a world in turmoil.

Drawing on examples from novels and short stories, participants will encounter familiar horror figures such as vampires, witches and other creature features, while examining classic settings like the haunted house. The workshop will also explore contemporary body horror, fresh interpretations of Irish mythological figures, and the use of horror to address social and environmental themes.
