Creator in Residence

Fingal County Council is developing the Fingal Community Maker Programme which includes planning for the development of the first Community Maker Space in Blanchardstown Library. This will be the cornerstone for building a vibrant Maker Space and innovation programme which will build and support creative communities, encourage innovation, provide equal access (remove cost barriers), and support informal education.

The Creator in Residence will support the programme by:

  • Engaging with communities in maker culture to innovate and create outreach activities for groups including local schools, playschools/creches, men’s/women's sheds, youth groups and others as identified in consultation with the steering group and project team.

  • Programming events, workshops, activities and projects in locations across the administrative area of Fingal County Council. These locations will include all 10 Fingal libraries and other Fingal County Council managed offices such as historical properties, parks and other Council owned buildings.

  • Coordinating and interacting with other maker spaces and others working in this field to create a network of creativity and to explore best practice in the area.

  • Fingal County Council hope to launch the programme in October - please keep an eye on our website www.fingal.ie/Creative-Ireland for updated information.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
