Clare Cultural Companions is an Age & Opportunity Arts Initiative funded by the Creative Ireland Programme.

Clare Cultural Companions is a social network for older people in County Clare, creating opportunities to meet new people, enjoy arts and cultural activities, and become involved in volunteering. Recognising that many older adults would attend more plays, films, concerts, exhibitions, and other events if they had someone to accompany them, the initiative brings together like-minded individuals who share an interest in arts and culture.

By fostering meaningful social connections, the network also encourages greater engagement with Clare’s rich cultural landscape. Participants can easily connect with companions to attend events together, enhancing both their social wellbeing and cultural experiences. Whether someone is seeking a companion to help them explore new activities or simply looking to share an enjoyable outing with someone who has similar interests, Clare Cultural Companions helps make the county’s vibrant arts, cultural, and social opportunities more accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable for older residents.
