Birr 2020 Vision Group have developed a proposal for developing a Creative Court for Birr’s Courthouse, which last held a court in 2013.  In 2021, the ownership of the building was handed over from the Office of Public Works to Offaly County Council, who are currently working to prepare for works to commence on site, following the preparation of a Conservation Master Plan in 2021, led by a team of Conservation Architects in Howley Hayes Cooney.  This year, the Creative Ireland Programme is supporting development of proposals for both the structural works to the building and to develop the governance and operation as a Creative Court.
