As part of the ongoing outreach work with the Domestic Violence service here in Sligo. DVAS are organising an event with Mental Health Ireland for the 16 Days of Activism against Violence against Women. The event will take place on Dec 2nd, in The Model, Sligo. The event is called The Festival of Stars, which is part of an arts project to weave one billion stars globally. These stars represent hope and solidarity in the campaign to eradicate violence against women. The event will involve bringing people, including children, from the community together to weave stars, exhibitions of artwork, consent workshops and music, with lunch, tea and coffee provided.
