The First Draft Festival gives new and aspiring playwrights a chance to workshop their completed first draft with professional theatre companies, and enter a live competition to have their completed script produced at the Glens Centre.

However, if you have a script that's not quite finished, an idea for a script that you think has potential, or you're not sure about how to get started, then the Final Draft Boot Camp might be for you. Leading playwright, broadcaster and author Vincent Woods will mentor you in developing your idea into a completed first draft, which you can then enter into the festival competition.

The Festival is funded by Creative Ireland and the Orla Parkinson Memorial Fund, in memory of local librarian Orla Parkinson and her contribution to arts and letters in the North West.
