Inishowen Colmcille Walking Festival will generate awareness of the 1500th anniversary of the birth of Colmcille as well as celebrate his footprint in Inishowen.

lt is a cross-dimensional celebration combining the outdoors and the treasures we find in its midst; rich in cultural history and heritage. The walks will be focused around specific places of interest such as St Columba's Church Straid (the site of St Colmcille's knee prints) and Portcille (where Colmcille left from to go to Iona). The festival will include around 12 walks taking place from 10-12 September 2021 and online resources will be created for use by the community and visitors as a legacy of the event.
