Laois County Library Service launch their 'Library Storywalk' for the Summer Stars 2021 programme.

Working with children's author Jennifer Farley, library staff have selected Jennifer's children's book "Scouts best day ever- a doggy adventure" as its Storywalk book - featuring the full edition and pages of "Scouts best day ever " mounted on boards in Laois playgrounds.  

Jennifer's book takes Scout from Donegal to Cork, from the Giant's Causeway to Salthill. The book which is beautifully illustrated engages children aged 4-10 and promotes reading in a fun and active way while enjoying the outdoors - encouraging children and caregivers to call to the library after their walk and collect their books and Summer Stars merchandise.

The Storywalk is featured in the below playgrounds over the summer months:

Mountmellick play ground: 18th June – 16th July

Mountrath Playground: 17th July – 30th July

Portarlington Playground: 31st July – 31st August

Bog walk Abbeyleix: 19th – 9th July

Rathdowney Playground: 10th July – 23rd July

Stradbally Playground: 24th July – 30th July

Portlaoise Town Park: 31st July – 31st August
