As part of the Bealtaine Festival Sligo and in conjunction with the Michael Kennedy-inspired exhibition at the Hyde Bridge Gallery May 2025, we at the Made Collective would like to run a number of creative events as a spin-off from this exhibition.
At the height of Michael Kennedys career, he was running two large studio potteries and a shop in the centre of Sligo town, employing 30 people. As a result of Michael’s skill as a craftsman, his business acumen and his bravery to forge ahead, a lot of young creatives just out of Art college could find employment with a great teacher and become part of a strong network, which Michael had created. This legacy lives on. Sligo is a changed place as a result of Michael’s presence in Sligo’s creative community. 
In conjunction with the Bealtaine Festival Sligo, a curated group exhibition will take place at the Hyde Bridge Gallery. This exhibition will showcase many of the ceramic artists and creatives whom Michael mentored over the years. This exhibition will be a highlight of the Bealtaine Festival Sligo events programming 2025. We at the MADE Collective would like to support this exhibition with a number of in-house talks and mentor sessions.
This project would be a timetable selection of mentor sessions for emerging creatives in Sligo’s Creative community, which will link in with the Bealtaine Festival Sligo
