The eighth Mícheál Ó’Cléirigh Summer School takes place in the Sandhouse Hotel, Rossnowlagh (Eircode F94X56F) on the weekend 6th – 8th May, 2022 with the theme of “Bloodshed and Retribution / Doirteadh Fola agus Díoltas 1530-1700”.

Events include talks from four expert speakers; music and song will be by young musicians; art competition for school children from the locality; a tour associated with the Four Masters; a Conference dinner; a musical evening and other events associated with the Four Masters.

The 2022 Primary Schools art competition once again presents with a large entry of art work from many young artists from seven schools in the locality, with four winning art categories for this free event:

  1. Junior/Senior
  2. First/Second Class
  3. Third/ Fourth Class
  4. Fifth/Sixth Class Art.
The Mícheál Ó Cléirigh Summer School is organised in the birthplace of the principal of the Four Masters, to celebrate his life and work and provide insights into the Gaelic world, of which he was a part, from the latest historical research. The main (ticketed) events for this year are talks given by historians on Saturday. Tickets can be pre-booked or purchased at the door.

After each Summer School the lectures and other associated events are published in a book and some copies distributed to various libraries in Co. Donegal.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
