Exploring the connection young people from Selskar School and Presentation School Wexford have with climate change, this spoken word project offers an opportunity for pupils to express their thoughts and feelings and uncover their unique voices. 

Led by spoken word artist Stephen James Smith, the young people will examine Smith’s work and write their own spoken words pieces which will be developed for a performance called My Wexford. My Wexford will be performed at prominent cultural venues in Wexford, and the creative journey will be documented and disseminated across social media platforms such as Tik Tok. The performance date is yet to be announced.

As well as raising awareness about climate change and action, this project will develop confidence and self esteem for the young people involved. The social nature of the performance making will enhance mental health and wellbeing, and build community and friendship.
