Navan Male Voice Choir was founded in 1980. They have performed all over Ireland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, represented the Diocese of Meath several times in Lourdes and Knock and they have travelled to Paris and Munich to sing. They have sung many times on RTÉ TV and RTÉ Radio and have jointly hosted concerts with both community choirs and with professional companies like Opera Theatre Company (Ireland) and Dumbworld Opera Company (UK).
Navan Male Voice Choir had planned a gala jubilee performance in 2021 to mark their fortieth year, but such events require intensive rehearsal and rehearsals had been suspended since March 2020.The choir had been using Zoom, but this solution was found wanting because of latency issues.
Navan Male Voice Choir has identified a solution via Sing Ireland. The solution involves the purchase of hardware and software which on installation will allow the choir to rehearse remotely with almost no perceptible latency. It will also allow the choir to launch realtime, live (not pre-recorded) performances online. The solution will allow the choir to rehearse remotely during the current restrictions and provide an option of blended rehearsals into the future.
