NeuroArt Family Festival
The NeuroArt Family Festival is a free, inclusive community event that celebrates neurodiversity through creativity, connection, and fun for all ages. Taking place on Saturday, 22 August 2026, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Old Fort Quarter (An Dún) in Portlaoise, County Laois, the festival offers a welcoming environment where everyone can explore art, culture, and community in an accessible setting. A sensory-friendly Quiet Hour will run from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, featuring reduced noise levels, lower stimulation, and calm spaces to ensure a comfortable experience for neurodivergent attendees and their families.
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a wide range of creative workshops, including painting, clay modelling, comics, spray art, and jewellery making. The festival programme also includes community drumming, circus performances, stilt walkers, and a special closing performance by pop artist AVII Knight. In addition, attendees can take part in hands-on STEM activities, inclusive dance jams, and sports sessions. Information and support stands from organisations such as ADHD Ireland and dyslexia support networks will also be available, providing resources, advice, and opportunities to connect with local support services.
