Bealtaine is Ireland’s National celebration of the Arts and Creativity as we age. 

An initiative of Age & Opportunity Arts, the programme runs throughout the month of May and the theme of this year’s programme is Lust for Life.

Offaly Libraries has developed a diverse programme of workshops and activities providing older people with an opportunity to be more creative, to encourage meaningful participation and to celebrate how our creative potential can improve with age.

Birr library will host a breakfast book club, felting workshop, quiz and movie club.

Banagher will be hosting a coffee morning,

Clara library will host a book club, quiz & a coffee morning ,

Daingean library will have creative writing, knitting, and a coffee morning. 

Edenderry library will see a book club, coffee morning & needle felting workshop.

Ferbane will also host a coffee morning and Kilcormac will host a needle felting workshop with Pauline McNelis.

Tullamore library will host many work shops including crochet, memory lab, community choir, trad session and more to be announced
