Oíche Gaeilge
The Laois Federation of the Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA) delivers an annual Irish Night (Oíche Gaeilge), a community cultural event that celebrates Ireland’s rich heritage through music, song, storytelling, and social connection. Held each March at the Sue Ryder Centre in Kilminchy, Portlaoise, the event brings together ICA members and the wider community to enjoy and promote traditional Irish culture in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Running from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, Irish Night provides an opportunity for people of all ages to engage with Irish traditions, language, and cultural expression. Through live performances, shared stories, and community participation, the event strengthens local connections, preserves cultural heritage, and fosters a greater appreciation of Ireland’s unique traditions while encouraging ongoing community engagement across County Laois.
