'Own Your Stage' is an ambitious youth-led creative project by Youth L.I.F.T Galway, placing young people at the heart of innovation. Designed for ages 13–24, it particularly reaches diverse and underrepresented groups, including those with low confidence or limited arts access. Over an intensive two-week period, participants collaboratively design and deliver a live fashion runway and talent showcase. 

Young people take full ownership as performers, models, stylists, hosts, and production crew, ensuring genuine leadership at every step. Workshops cover fashion upcycling, talent development (music, dance, spoken word), stage training, and event promotion—all guided by experienced creative mentors, while youth drive all decisions. The project takes place in accessible community venues across Galway City, culminating in a public showcase at a local performance space. This finale celebrates their work and invites community connection. 

Responding to a need for inclusive creative outlets, "Own Your Stage" builds confidence, self-expression, and wellbeing while tackling social isolation. It champions youth voice and cultural diversity, breaking down barriers to participation. Through mentoring and hands-on production, participants gain tangible skills in styling, performance, and event management. The result is a vibrant celebration of creativity, collaboration, and youth leadership—empowering a new generation to own their stage and their potential.
