The Peann agus Pár Irish language creative group was established in 2014 as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. The group, led by writer Colm O Ceallacháin, meets bi-monthly and is the most successful Irish language initiative in Cork City Libraries. The group was awarded the Gradam Uí Chuanachain, Gnólacht Mór in 2018 and this year it is shortlisted for the National LAMA Awards. It has also been part of the national Poetry as Commemoration programme under the direction of Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh.

In 2024 a Peann agus Pár publication will feature the work of this group along with work of some of the established poets that have facilitated the workshops in the past, including Doireann Ní Ghríofa, Dairena Ní Chinnéide, Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh, Louis de Paor, Julie Field and Ré Ó Laighléis. Other Irish language poets will also be considered.
