People and Place in Words

The North West Clare Writers’ Circle is hosting a series of Five Beginner Two-Hour Creative Writing Workshops over eight weeks from May to July 2024.  Workshop participants will be offered the opportunity to submit to an anthology of writing from the publishers of 2020 ‘Walk With Me’, which will be published in November 2024 and will explore and celebrate a sense of community, place and belonging; historic and current.

There are twelve places available on the course and we are inviting people from any and all walks of life to apply.  No prior writing experience is required; just the desire to explore your creativity through writing.  We are particularly interested in hearing from people who might not ordinarily consider a creative writing course or a publishing opportunity but who have some desire to write and would like help to get started.

The workshops will take place in Ennistymon on Wednesday Evenings, 7pm to 9pm, on the 22nd and 29th of May, June 12th and June 19th and July 10th.

The workshops are designed to deliver inspiration, encouragement, writing craft, story devices and editing advice to help participants achieve completion of at least one piece of work they are happy to publish.

Closing date for applications for a place on the course is April 30th. Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. To book a place/or for more information, Contact Breda Shannon on 086 8211549 or e mail bredas@outlook.com.
