Poetry in the Park is a citywide literary initiative that brings poetry beyond traditional cultural venues and into Cork's public spaces, creating opportunities for people to encounter creativity as part of their daily lives. Installed across parks and walking routes throughout the city, the project makes poetry accessible to diverse audiences, encouraging reflection, connection and enjoyment in shared outdoor environments.

The programme will be presented across six locations: Clogheenmilcon Walkway in Blarney, Gerry O'Sullivan Park, The Marina, Fitzgerald's Park, Tramore Valley Park and Ballincollig Regional Park. By spanning the northside, southside, city centre and the expanded city area, the initiative ensures broad geographic access to literature and cultural participation.

Featuring work by established and award-winning poets alongside emerging writers, young poets and intercultural voices, Poetry in the Park celebrates the richness and diversity of Cork's literary community. The programme provides a valuable platform for new voices while showcasing the city's vibrant creative landscape in accessible and unexpected settings.

In 2026, installations will connect with a range of cultural festivals and civic celebrations, incorporating themes and poems in multiple languages, including Irish and German.
