ReCreate: Art for ALL Abilities

Recreate: Art for All Abilities is a collaborative project led by Down Syndrome Tipperary-Meitheal 21, in partnership with Thurles Library. This project aims to promote creativity, inclusion, and sustainability for adults with Down syndrome and additional needs.

This exciting project will empower our members to express their creativity by using recycled materials to create unique works of art, such as paintings, sculptures, and mixed-media pieces. The project emphasises sustainability, encouraging participants to reuse and repurpose materials, turning them into beautiful creations. This approach not only promotes artistic expression but also raises awareness about the importance of environmental responsibility.

The project will kick off in the spring with a series of workshops held in Thurles Library and Meitheal 21. These workshops will run throughout the summer, with participants creating their artwork in preparation for the exhibition.

The Recreate: Art for All Abilities exhibition will be held from 16th to 20th September at Tipperary Library, The Source, Thurles. This exhibition will showcase the incredible artwork created by our members, allowing the public to appreciate their creativity and the sustainable practices they’ve incorporated.

The exhibition will be free and open to the public. We encourage everyone to visit and celebrate the talent and creativity of our members. For more details and updates, please check the Thurles Library website and follow us on social media.
