Saibhreas - Irish Palestinian Cultural Exchange Residency

Saibhreas is a new project developed by Common Knowledge, project coordinator Aoife Hammond and Artists Amir Abualrob and Sorcha Fox.

Saibhreas is an Irish word that translates to ‘richness’ or ‘wealth’ - In the Irish language it is often though of as a richness not from wealth but from connection - with this project we are focusing on the richness that comes from interpersonal connection and exchange and the community
that can be built from sharing stories.

From March 27 - 29 Artists Sorcha Fox and Amir Abularob will be ‘artist-in-residence’ at Common Knowledge as part of the residency they will link in with the local palestine community in Clare take part in a social and cultural evening onsite, perform a new theatre piece and work with local Clare musician Tara Baoth Mooney.

Saibhreas - development of new work
On the 28th and 29th of March Sorcha Fox and Amir Abualrob will rehearse and develop their piece ‘Saibhreas’ for a performance on the evening of the 29th March.

‘'Saibhreas' - Event March 29th
Amir and Sorcha will present a new theatre piece, 'Saibhreas', inspired by the connections between Irish and Palestinian communities, their shared relationship to the land and the history of colonisation in both countries. They will be joined by live musicians Tara Baoth Mooney .
