To celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge, Offaly Libraries are promoting the Irish language through a variety of events from March 1st-17th. 

Storytime sessions and St. Patrick’s Day Crafts will be on offer in libraries countywide while Irish words and phrases will be displayed in all branches, encouraging everyone to use the “cúpla focail”. 

Primary and Secondary school students will be invited to participate in Irish quizzes with special prizes up-for-grabs. 

On Saturday 9th March, Pop-Up Gaeltachts will be present in Birr and Tullamore Libraries.  All are welcome to visit on the day and enjoy some comhrá agus cupán tae and with some traditional Irish music on offer, it promises to be great craic!
