Sligo Artist Network 2021

Artist Network Sligo, a network/group made up of a range of creatives from Co. Sligo/ the North West, was founded in 2019 as a Creative Sligo Open Call project.

The Sligo Artist Network gives creatives the opportunity to avail of information sharing, training supports, up-skilling etc. This year Sligo Artist Network will support the work of Sligo based artists through the Network via a range of mentoring and supports.

A 6 –week online mentoring/supports session covering the area of ‘The business of being an artist’ will be delivered by artist Kari Cahill. 

Interview/written text support sessions will be delivered by Barry McHugh who runs Painting in Text, a platform that interviews upcoming and established artists on their practice as a way of sharing different approaches to thinking and creating art. Painting in Text was launched in late 2017.

An online network talk linking in with the Model Sligo Artist Breakfast Club.

Promoting and sharing of talks, opportunities and events via the Network FB group.  

The Sligo Artist Network has 294 members all of which can access online talks, opportunities and events via the Network FB group.

30 artists in total will be involved in the three programmed, mentoring, supports and talk sessions.
