A project by Offaly Drama Project brings together artists from different disciplines to collaborate and create a film from their collective creative response, Spiral Nebula.
This short film is a visual essay in celebration of the discovery of the spiral structure of the Nebula Whirlpool. This momentous discovery, by William 3rd Earl of Rosse, allowed humans to see, and realise, for the first time that we lived not in a singular galaxy but multiple galaxies, a much vaster universe than had been imagined.
The Film was made on location in Birr Castle, Gardens and Science Centre and features the collaborated creative response of four individual artists of different disciplines: Ann Cleare, Composer, Pascal Kennedy, Singer, Brendan Farrell, Cinematographer, Fiona Breen, Director. The film was premiered on Culture Night online over social media and at Birr Theatre and Art Centre.
