Street Art - Electrical Boxes
Over the past few years Galway Tidy Towns have been painting the electrical boxes situated all around Galway city. They have painted in excess of 30 boxes with the theme of 'Galway', painted in exterior emulsions and coated with a weather resistant varnish. These were painted in conjunction with Galway Tidy Towns and Galway City Council using local artists.
They now propose to paint another 100 boxes in and around the city centre up until the end of November. Also using the theme of ‘Galway' with artists
From Eyre Square to Merchants Road to Shop St. and west to Dominic St. The boxes will be cleaned down, primed and painted with Galway based themes.
The project will be broken into three different aspects,
1. the initial cleaning down and priming .
2. artists would choose 10 boxes each to paint
3. finishing and varnish
