Summer Stars Reading Adventure 2024
Let your imagination run wild today and over the summer as you discover the wonderful world of reading at your local library. Embark on a wonderful journey and see what adventures are in store for you.
Summers Stars is a reading initiative under the national Right to Read campaign which encourages children to read 8 books over the summer months. It starts from the 1st of June and joining is free.
To kickstart their reading adventure each participant is given a booklet to record the books they read and a bookmark. There are prizes along the way for books read as well as a weekly prize draw for children who complete the scavenger hunt or a colouring sheet in branch.
A series of in-branch events will also be taking place over the summer to celebrate Summer Stars including themed craft & storytimes for under 6s, crafts and a series of talks for older children, a teddy bear triage, STEAM events and movie nights.
Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
