Creative Ireland’s creative communities, Wexford County Council and Wexford Arts Centre will facilitate a ‘Swing into the Afternoon and Chat’ series for retired and senior participants including those with mobility issues.

The aim is to enable creative social engagement and positive memory health through the telling of life stories combined with singing songs from the Swing Jazz Era.

Jazz artist vocalist Melanie O’Reilly, accompanied by Adrian Jackson on Bass and Carole Nelson on keyboards will lead a sing along of classics from the Swing Jazz Era.

Artist Michelle Dooley Mahon will chat to participants to record and hear the many interestingly diverse stories they wish to share. Michelle will record and transcribe these stories for an online publication and in print to be appreciated by the participants and future generations.
