Sligo County Council has worked with festival promoters to support the first Taste of Sligo Food festival for Sligo as an important community and enterprise endeavour to support local artisan food businesses and sustainable food production in the sector. 

It is to take place over 21st /22nd of September 2024 in Queen Maeve Square, Sligo and is an important type of event to animate the new Sligo public civic amenity space.  This festival which aims to showcase Sligo and its food producers as a creative Foodie hub, will also feature best in class visiting food demonstrators.

As part of the festival there is a two-day Programme of Family Entertainment which is to be a variety of music and street entertainment. This will consist of local singers, musicians and Arts and Crafts and street entertainment.
