Tea, Chats and Tunes (North East)
Tea, Chats & Tunes (North East) is a collaborative partnership aimed at connecting residents in nursing homes with their families through the power of music.
The programme is tailored to the unique circumstances of healthcare settings, including residents with dementia, sensory loss, and mild cognitive impairment. Building upon TCT 2022-23 project evaluations, Tea, Chats & Tunes tailors each musical interaction to residents' preferences and choices, ensuring responsive collaboration and person-centred live music experiences for residents and healthcare staff.
This initiative, led by accomplished musicians affiliated with Music & Health Ireland, fosters connections through music, emphasises equity and shared social engagement. Tea, Chats & Tunes is a partnership project led by Music & Health Ireland with Meath County Council Arts Office & Louth County Council Arts Office, supported by Healthy Ireland Meath & Louth, Age Friendly Meath & Louth, with funding from Creative Ireland ‘ Live Music in Residential Healthcare Settings Scheme 2024’.
