The Eco Showboat is a zero carbon floating environmental arts studio and laboratory bringing creative communities and scientists together across Ireland to address climate change.

The boat is the 48M, a historic barge leased to School of Looking (artists Anne Cleary and Denis Connolly) for 21 years by Waterways Ireland. A full survey has been carried out and shown it to be in sound condition but it needs to be painted and cleaned. It is currently in Tullamore and will be moved to Shannon Harbour in September for these works to be carried out over the winter.In the first year it will be a simple open space, suitable for workshops in small groups, and over the coming years the restoration and conversion will continue to become a state of the art zero carbon vessel.
