Twilight traditions- showcasing Sligo’s musical heritage is a traditional music, song and dance trail round Sligo, a pop up once a week from the 9th of August until the 27th of September 2024. 
This project ran as a pilot last summer in Ostá café in Sligo town During July/ August 2023 voluntarily but has a proven track record of showcasing Irish music to tourists, day trippers and locals. It was very successful  & the restaurant seen a hike in evening trade as a result. It was marketed online and through a poster which was distributed to hotels and tourist offices. Traditional Irish music, song and dance is not readily accessible to most tourists as it is usually on show in a pub environment, late at night and sometimes costs an entry in certain venues.
If one travels internationally, the culture is visual daily whether it is free public displays to the tourists at a public place (streets/ squares) or in venues (cafés/ restaurants). The idea entitled: Twilight Trad is about opening the accessibility at convenient times for the tourist market- 2 till 4pm or 6 until 8pm to cater for footfall in the afternoon and early evening nighttime entertainment. The publicity online has great potential if we use a hashtag for Instagram/ Tic Tok/ Facebook etc and people can post real life interactive tourism experiences in Sligo.
