When I grow up...'Now and then'

is a collaboration between South Tipperary Arts Centre, Community Arts Practitioner Catherine McVicker and renowned local Storyteller/retired educator Mary Hickey. The project engages Clonmel Daycare Centre in Irishtown, Clonmel and 3rd class from Gaelscoil Chluain Meala, also in Irishtown. Through a series of workshops the participants, young and old reflect on the changes with each generation, exploring children's stories, sharing conversations, childhood games, activities, and songs.

During the pandemic from research it has been noted that there were a number of projects such as pen pal connections between nursing homes and school children and care packs projects at Christmas. This project offers to take this further locally by facilitating an engaged experience where participants can weave a new intergenerational story.
