Culture Night

For one night a year doors are flung open all over the country to welcome everyone to a night of culture, in its many and varied forms . Now in its 17th year, Culture Night/Oíche Chultúir is brought to you by the Arts Council and Local Authorities.

Through our partners in Local Authorities, Creative Ireland is delighted to support a wonderful schedule of events all programmed to enthral visitors of all ages and all tastes. In Fingal the Malahide Library, Blanchardstown Library and Fingal Local Studies and Archives will stay open late. Audiences of all ages can enjoy a variety of cultural events including story-telling, music, dance, a heritage tour of Blanchardstown’s lost landmarks and creepiest crypts, interactive dance workshops that includes African traditional and urban dance alongside Sean Nós Dance, poetry and spoken word and the Culture Night favourites,  Blanchardstown Brass Band!

While in Laois you are invited to take a closer look at the wonderful Fadó Faces exhibition at the Dunamaise Arts Centre in which celebrates the lives and stories of older people in County Laois. This wonderful exhibition features the work of local artists: Bronagh Conroy, Aishling Hennessy, Ray Murphy, Kevin McCann, Mike Rafter, Pauline Conroy, Antoinette Breen, Kate Deegan, Allen Scully, and Mark Fisher and is part of the Creative Ireland Laois – Creativity in Older Age 2022 initiative.

In Roscommon there will be a conference to commemorate the life and works of internationally renowned Roscommon born artist Roderic O’Conor. You are invited to visit the Roscommon Arts Centre to see for yourself the wonderful work of one of our most celebrated artists.

For something completely different in Tallaght,  NOISE Music  will present a showcase of work by young female DJS who have been working over the summer with DJ Mona Lxsa from Gxrl Code, Rapper Alica Raye, Singer- Songwriter Aisling Moore a.k.a AIS) as well as the visual artist Kathrina Rupit a.k.a kinm to develop their rap/hip-hop/Producing and DJ’ing skills.
