Fulbright Creative Ireland Fellowships webinar

Thinking of applying for a Fulbright Creative Ireland Museum or Professional Fellowship 2023-24? Attend this informative webinar on 29 September for everything you need to know.

Launched in 2018, The Fulbright Creative Ireland Museum Fellowships have seen several candidates undertake valuable placements in the prestigious Smithsonian Institution (comprising 17 museums and galleries), the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, Texas, and the Exploratorium in San Francisco.

Since 2019 these esteemed fellowships have widened in scope to include professionals who may not have an academic background. The Fulbright-Creative Ireland Professional Fellowship has since fostered Ireland-U.S. collaborations in the highly-valued culture and creative sector. This ensures that more people from these sectors benefit from the Fulbright Programme.

Last year’s Fulbright Irish Awardees

More versatile than the museum-based fellowships, The Fulbright-Creative Ireland Professional Fellowship does not require successful applicants to be involved in doctoral education, nor is it limited to prescribed host US institutions. Applicants need to identify placements that they feel best meet their needs as experienced cultural and creative professionals and the ambitions of their respective practice. The Exploratorium award for example allows Scholar applicants – those with PhDs – to carry out research at the museum.

In this year’s round of applications, there will be three Fulbright Creative Ireland Museum Fellowships and up to two awards granted for the Fulbright and Creative Ireland Professional Fellowship
