Granard Harp Festival

Granard is the home of the oldest harp festival in Ireland, founded in 1781.

After a hiatus, the festival was revived in 2018 in partnership with the Granard Harp Festival Trustees and the John Dungan Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.

The festival celebrates the strong tradition of harp music in the region, and fosters appreciation and enjoyment of this ancient art form along with other aspects of traditional Irish music, song and dance. The wide-ranging programme features concerts, workshops, talks, walking tours and even a lively street-busking competition for young people.
