Cork Young Filmmakers in partnership with Cork Film Centre, Cork County Council and SECAD  are delighted to invite you to this very special event which is hosted by Cork County Council, and supported through the Creative Ireland Programme, to celebrate a year of filmmaking with young people from throughout County Cork. The annual Film Gala is a free and exciting event for enthusiastic young film makers who are involved in this Cork County Youth Arts Training Programme managed by Cork Film Centre. This Evening Gala premieres and celebrates new work by young film makers made with the Cork Young Filmmakers programme throughout the county where short films made young filmmakers will be screened for the first time. Since 2006, with support from Cork County Council Arts Office, SECAD, Cork Film Centre, and others including The Arts Council, Udarás na Gaeilge, HSE, Cork ETB and Creative Ireland, this innovative programme has created opportunities for young people to become engaged with film making. In partnership with Cork Film Centre professional filmmakers the project aims to build confidence and skills, and create opportunities for young people to express themselves through the medium of film as well as having fun and meeting like-minded people. The annual Gala premiering the films made each year has become an integral part of this, creating much needed opportunities to showcase new films made by young people in County Cork.
