The Rainbow Library is an ambitious UK & Ireland-wide participatory literature creation & publishing project addressing near-invisibility of LGBTQ+ identities & demand for LGBTQ+ inclusive stories in children’s books. 12 LGBTQ+ authors have already signed up to produce 7 new book titles developed via creative workshops with marginalised LGBTQ+ CYP in 7 cities. CYP groups will produce anthologies of stories & curate a conference across 3 UNESCO Cities of Literature tackling under-representation in children’s publishing & to empower more unheard voices. The Rainbow Library will launch at Pride celebrations nationally.
