The vision for Wicklow’s Creative Ireland Programme is to embed creativity into the heart of communities across the county; increasing the capacity and confidence of all to bring creativity and innovation to their lives, thus enriching the social, economic and cultural life of County Wicklow.
This programme will support creativity in the community by forging links and collaborations between the arts, film, heritage, libraries and archives, in both non-professional and professional spheres. The spirit of this strategy is to challenge the barriers to participation that may exist or arise, whether they are financial, geographical, and societal or other access barriers relating to perception and attitude. Wicklow’s strategy will explore the potential for engaging with the arts, heritage and creative practitioners in new and non-traditional settings. Participation and access are central to the vision. Connecting artists and other creators to communities is also regarded as essential to realising the vision.
